100cuci lists baccarat in its live casino category (checked 3 November 2026). We could not verify which studio supplies the tables or the exact rules in use, so the figures below are standard estimates for an 8-deck shoe. Check the table's rules panel before you bet.
How a baccarat hand plays out
Two hands are dealt: Player and Banker. The names are just labels. You don't play as either side; you simply bet on which hand will win.
- Place your bet on Player, Banker or Tie (plus any side bets) before betting closes.
- Each hand gets two cards. Card values: A = 1, 2 to 9 at face value, 10/J/Q/K = 0. Only the last digit of the total counts: 7 + 8 = 15, so the hand is worth 5.
- If either hand has 8 or 9 (a natural), the round ends immediately.
- Otherwise, Player draws a third card on 0 to 5 and stands on 6 or 7. Banker then follows a fixed table that depends on Player's third card.
- The hand closest to 9 wins. If they're equal, the result is a Tie.
You make no decisions after betting. That's why the only meaningful baccarat "strategy" is choosing the cheapest bet and controlling your stake.
House edge on every bet
| Bet | Usual payout | House edge |
|---|---|---|
| Banker | 1:1 minus 5% commission | ~1.06% |
| Player | 1:1 | ~1.24% |
| Tie | 8:1 | ~14.4% |
| Tie | 9:1 | ~4.8% |
| Player Pair / Banker Pair | 11:1 | ~10.4% |
Banker wins slightly more often: about 45.9% of hands against 44.6% for Player, with the rest (about 9.5%) being Ties. The 5% commission exists to offset that advantage.
Some "no commission" tables pay Banker 1:1 but only half when Banker wins with a total of 6. Under that common rule, the Banker house edge rises to about 1.46%.
Roadmaps, trends and "patterns" predict nothing
Live tables show roadmaps such as the Big Road and Bead Plate, which record past results. They're useful for seeing history, not for predicting. Cards are shuffled randomly, and earlier hands barely change the odds of the next one.
- "Banker has won six times, so Player is due." This is the gambler's fallacy. The odds stay the same.
- "Follow the trend." Doesn't help either. The odds remain about 45.9% Banker and 44.6% Player on every hand.
- Betting systems like Martingale (double after a loss) don't change the house edge. They only swap many small losses for rare but severe ones. See the worked example in the roulette guide.
Side bets and table variants
Live tables often offer side bets such as Pairs, Dragon Bonus or random multipliers. Higher payouts usually mean a higher house edge. Random-multiplier variants usually charge an extra fee on each bet or cut the normal payouts to fund the multipliers.
If the payout table or house edge isn't shown in the table's rules panel, assume it doesn't favour you.
Before you play live baccarat
- Check the Banker commission, the Tie payout (8:1 or 9:1) and the table minimum.
- Work out your expected loss: total wagered × house edge. Example: 100 hands × RM10 on Banker = RM1,000 wagered, an expected loss of about RM10.60. The same amount on Tie at 8:1 is expected to lose about RM144.
- Live rounds repeat quickly. Set a money and time limit before you sit down.
- Never play to win back losses. Read the responsible gambling guide if that starts to happen.
